Ingenium assisted AZ Groeninge in developing an “Energy Master Plan” with specific goals for 2030 and beyond.
In this regard, significant attention was focused on reducing natural gas consumption and integrating heat pumps, as well as on increasing the share of renewable energy production and consumption on the site itself.
The team explored how PV panels could be further expanded on the remaining available areas on the site. This involved examining the feasibility of installing PV panels on the parking lot carports and lightweight solar panels on building sections with limited load-bearing capacity; these options are now being further developed for effective implementation on the site.
A comprehensive vision for the future was developed for the production and distribution of heat and cooling on the site, in line with AZ Groeninge’s climate vision plan, with the goal of becoming a “fossil-free” site in the medium term.
This vision for the future was then further developed into a concrete master plan in which sub-steps were defined and a phased approach was established, with a focus on avoiding lock-in effects.
The integral execution was done expertly and professionally with an eye for the client's interests.
