KBC Arteveld tower commissioning
Ingenium was responsible for the commissioning of the tallest building in Ghent and the highest office building in the Flemish Region. With 119 meters and 27 floors, the KBC Arteveldetoren is a real eye-catcher and the tallest building in Ghent and the highest office building in the Flemish Region. The imposing tower is located near Flanders Expo and the Ikea in Ghent. KBC centralizes its regional headquarters there. The building is good for 21,500 m² office. Within this spectacular project, Ingenium was appointed by KBC to execute a complete commissioning assignment in preparation of the occupation and commissioning of the tower. For this assignment we inspected the systems for HVAC, sanitary facilities, high and low voltage, elevators, smoke and heat extraction. We tested these against the KBC's expectation profile, both during the construction of the installations, during the delivery phase and in the period immediately after delivery. In this way, the KBC received the necessary assurances from an independent commissioner that the comfort and performance requirements would be met. We then looked to correct the defects identified. Both the execution, the finishing and the optimal functioning of the installations received the necessary attention. The Ingenium commissioners used the ASHRAE method from guideline 0-2005, which describes the commissioning process.
