Repurposing the existing patrimony

Located in the heart of a vibrant Brussels neighborhood, the BNP AB project represents an important step in the sustainable redevelopment of the existing patrimony.

The former office building, included in the inventory of architectural heritage of the Brussels Capital Region, is being completely renovated to accommodate more than 30,000 m² modern office space, as well as housing and various shared functions such as a fitness center, a restaurant, a conference center and a care center.

BREEAM Outstanding Label

This large-scale project aims to achieve the BREEAM Outstanding label and achieve EPB Level A for the various units.

New solutions in existing structure

The existing structure will be preserved.

Openings are created in the existing volume to form new facades and improve the natural lighting of interior spaces.

The building envelope will be thermally insulated and made airtight. The insulation of the existing parts with high heritage value is done along the inside to preserve their character.

The heat and cold production system is based on a centralized, all-electric solution that combines air-water and water-water heat pumps. These use two sources: a water storage tank in the parking garage and open geothermal energy from the ground. For the production of domestic hot water, decentralized "booster" heat pumps provide optimal efficiency and maximum user comfort.

Transformation with attention to functionality, comfort and environmental awareness

This project shows how an existing building can be transformed and repurposed, with the exceptional architecture at the center of the intervention.

This extends the life of the building and gives it real added value, as a mixed-use space where functionality, comfort and environmental awareness come together harmoniously.
