Bayer - New construction offices Diegem
In Diegem, Bayer realized a new office building. For this prestigious building, in terms of technical installations, the aim was to achieve maximum integration of energy-efficient technologies in an innovative overall concept.
Ingenium designed all technical systems for this new office building. There was a strong focus on applying energy-efficient techniques in an already well-insulated building with high-performance sun blinds. The basic heating and cooling of the building is provided by concrete core activation. The necessary heat and cold are created by means of Borehole Energy Storage in combination with a heat pump. In addition, ground-air heat exchangers that condition the ventilation air were also provided.
By applying this total concept, the primary energy consumption for cooling and heating of the building will be reduced by about 50 %, resulting in an annual minus emission of 86 tons of CO2. A K-level of 35 and an E-level of 63 were achieved. The building won the 2009 Belgian Energy Prize for non-residential buildings (Royal Federation of Architects' Associations of Belgium).
