Ingenium is preparing a heat zoning map for the Dendermonde region for the province of East Flanders. This study assignment forms a preparation of Cases in the Interreg project DOEN and the strategic project EHUBT.

As part of the Interreg project DOEN, the province of East Flanders wants to create tools for municipalities and energy brokers to draw up a heat transition plan.

Specifically, Ingenium prepared a heat zoning map in three steps:

• Mapping the heat demand
• Indication of the potential of different technologies as a function of possible policy measures
• Based on the previous steps, the preparation of a heat zoning map

The result is a heat zoning map for Dendermonde and - equally important - an enumeration of the existing difficulties and gaps for preparing a heat zoning map, including the link to policy measures.
