POM West Flanders - Business Parks of the Future - Blauwe Toren Bruges

On behalf of POM West Flanders, we collaborated on a plan to make the Blauwe Toren business park in Bruges more sustainable.

We have mapped out the current situation in terms of energy and established visions for 2030 and 2050. For example, two wind turbines will be installed, PV production will be optimized, and a parking tower will be built to serve as an energy hub, with extensive charging infrastructure. Companies will be given tools to make their internal processes more sustainable, share energy, and better align energy demand with supply, e.g., by using individual or collective batteries. The development of a fifth-generation heat network, linked to geothermal and aquathermal sources, is also included in the plan.

The plan was developed in close collaboration with POM West Flanders, stakeholders such as the City of Bruges and WVI, and with research agencies that took on the other aspects of the assignment: efficient use of space, water, materials, mobility, landscape and ecological quality, park management for business park associations, and social services.
