Research on collective heat system for social housing patrimony
The Province of East Flanders wants to work on sustainable and affordable housing. To this end, it supports housing companies with advice on affordable use of ambient heat.

Ingenium worked out different scenarios for three neighborhoods in which collective heat systems with different elements were examined. Both the large amount of distribution possibilities, such as different temperatures or different sizes of heat networks and clusters, and the large amount of possible heat sources were highlighted.

For the most viable scenarios, Ingenium prepared a technical-energy-financial analysis with the end result being the total cost of ownership of these systems. Finally, in collaboration with Transition Stories, we made some critical reflections on the current subsidy mechanisms and the specific assets and pitfalls for housing companies.
