AZ Sint-Lucas is planning a thorough renovation of its campus. The planned works require a re-evaluation of the existing energy facilities and offer an opportunity for optimization. To this end, INGENIUM drew up an energy master plan 2008-2020.

The energy master plan identifies future energy needs, taking into account the planned new construction and renovation. The detected heat and cold demand is generated sustainably, through a combination of district heating, heat pumps, cogeneration, borehole energy storage and chillers. The proposed technical concept results in energy cost reduction, increased transparency of energy flows, higher flexibility and guarantee of supply. A roadmap guides AZ Sint-Lucas in the realization of the projects.  

The "energy master plan AZ Sint-Lucas" will be implemented starting in mid-2010.
