AGP is expanding its production capacity with a new production line that will feature a modern electric bending furnace to replace the current furnace. This investment is intended to improve energy efficiency and increase production.

Soliver nv site Zwijnaarde has a high-tech fully automated line. Complex shapes of flat glass are realized for the automotive industry through several processes such as bending, cutting, .... At the Zwijnaarde site, the focus is mainly on roof windows.

Soliver SA is expanding the boundaries of conventional glass products by offering new technologies for large and complex glazing with a focus on electric and autonomous vehicles.

Role of Ingenium

Ingenium performs the following services:

• Calculation of the expected annual energy consumption of the expansion
• Assessment of all processes for energy efficiency
• Guidance on the procurement of systems in which the best available technology is applied in an economically viable manner

Final result & techniques

Thanks to a modified bending process, the new production line offers significantly improved energy efficiency and capacity. The entire line is fully electrified, ensuring optimal process control, lower operating costs, and a demonstrable reduction in energy consumption compared to the current installation. This electrification also contributes to more sustainable operations and a smaller ecological footprint.

Based on energy balances, tour and discussion with customer, a longlist of energy-saving measures was drawn up. These will be implemented step by step.
