Zaventem Airport needed to update its energy plan for the period 2018-2022. Ingenium drafted the initial energy plan in 2006 and has since updated it twice.

The study includes the preparation of the energy plans for the boiler rooms (20MW and 140MW) and heat distribution via heat network and the energy plan for the electricity consumers, the HVAC installations and the specific airport-related installations (beaconing, baggage handling). The total area of buildings within this energy plan is approximately 500,000 m². The updated energy plan 2018-2022 was submitted to the VEA (Flemish Energy Agency) in March 2018.
