Bioversneller, Zwijnaarde
The bioversneller is a biotech research building near the Zwijnaarde industrial park that will house the publicly traded Ablynx (nano-body research), among others.
The building consists of 10 separate units of approximately 1,000 m² , each containing research laboratories, offices, writing rooms and storage space (cold rooms and -80 freezers). Given the ever-changing technical requirements of today's research laboratories, sustainability is ingrained in the concept itself. In fact, the concept of the technical equipment is structured to allow maximum flexibility at the unit level. The laboratories have a containment level L2 and are cooled to 21°C. There is open parking underneath the building.
In addition to traditional techniques, the building also offers compressed air distribution, steam production and distribution of autoclaves for laboratory application, overpressure/underpressure control and HEPA filtration in laboratories. The building was designed during 2007-2008. Given the short schedule, it was chosen to carry out the project in construction team. Besides Ingenium, architects Sumproject and the contractors Ipes and Denys were involved. Implementation started at the end of 2008 and was completed in 2010.
Ingenium is also performing the EPB reporting for this project. For this project, Ingenium was also responsible for performing an audit on the maintenance provided and for optimizing the maintenance contract.
