A thermal comfort simulation was conducted to identify solutions for both spaces and assess their potential. The most suitable solution was then identified based on an evaluation and comparison of the results.
A thermal comfort simulation was conducted to identify solutions for both spaces and assess their potential. The most suitable solution was then identified based on an evaluation and comparison of the results.
Three scenarios were identified to improve the comfort of the exhibition space and the auditorium:
- One VRF system per floor;
- A reversible L/W heat pump to replace the existing heat pump and boiler;
- Replacement of the glass, including the addition of sunshades and limited cooling.
The latter is the most energy-efficient solution. The primary source of solar heat gain is reduced by solar control glass and retractable sunshades, which means that less cooling capacity is required to meet comfort requirements.
