In Flanders Fields museum
The In Flanders Fields museum is Belgium's premier museum relating to the First World War in Belgium.
It is located in the Cloth Halls of Ypres. The history of the halls dates back to the 13th century and it was itself a major casualty of WWI. After opening some 15 years ago, the museum was in need of extensive renovation and expansion. The updated museum includes space for a museum foyer, a visitor center, a small auditorium, a spacious cafeteria, a knowledge center and, of course, areas for temporary and permanent exhibitions.
Ingenium took care of integrating the techniques into the building. This was no sinecure given that the building is historically very valuable. It is not for nothing that it is on UNESCO's list of protected monuments. Ingenium's expertise in this area came in handy.
