Ancienne Belgique - Design HVAC and CHP installation.
Ingenium designs the new heat production in the Ancienne Belgique, Brussels. A cogeneration unit forms the new heart of the energy supply in the concert hall. Given the building function, high acoustic requirements are imposed on the technical systems.
Commissioned by het Facilitair Bedrijf and the Fonds Culturele Infrastructuur (FoCI), Ingenium conducted the feasibility study for the Ancienne Belgique buildings in Brussels. This study included a cogeneration installation (CHP), PV panels, recovery of rainwater for, among other things, toilet flushing and the possibilities for a green roof. Based on this study, het Facilitair Bedrijf decided to realize the CHP installation in combination with an already planned boiler room renovation.
Ingenium then designed the systems for the new heat production in the Ancienne Belgique, prepared the tender dossier and followed up the works, integrating a 30 kWe cogeneration plant into the boiler room. Given the building function, high acoustic requirements were imposed on the technical installations. The necessary HVAC installations were also adapted to take full advantage of the new heat production (conversion from constant to variable flow of the heating installation).
