Knokke-Heist gets architectural and sustainable eye-catcher with HOOST
A colorful and iconic eye-catcher, that will be the HOOST project on the Maes and Boereboomplein in Knokke-Heist. Ingenium lays important sustainable accents and relieves the contractors.
The design is by the renowned Parisian architectural firm Jakob MacFarlane. A construction team consisting of architectural firm B2Ai, developer CAAAP, contractor Artes and Ingenium further shaped the project. The building has a footprint of 1,444 square meters and will have 13 above-ground and 1 underground floors and counting, which will be filled mainly with 90 apartments and 7 penthouses. In addition to offices and a central patio, the lower floors will house various (semi-)public spaces such as a library and game library, a multipurpose event space, a council chamber for local government and a drinking establishment. In addition to the tower building, a low-rise building for commercial businesses will also be erected. With the demolition of the old town hall and the meeting center the Ravelingen and the construction of a large underground parking lot (2 floors), a lot of space will become available on the square that can be used multifunctionally.
BEO and BIM
In addition to striking architecture and maximum experience, there is also a strong commitment to sustainability. A BTES will be constructed under the square. Each user - both apartment/penthouse and public space - will be connected to this central heat and cold network via a heat pump. In this way, the entire building will be gas-free heated in the winter and a pleasant indoor climate is also guaranteed in the hot summer months.
Architecture, stability and techniques coordinate the entire project in a central BIM model. In consultation with Artes, Ingenium also prepares the specific execution models for the techniques, which will be used during execution on site.
