Making building managers' lives a good deal easier? We do that with BIMvisible and the digital vault!

BIMvisible

The intuitive BIMvisible app that Ingenium developed together with Savaco and In The Pocket puts full-size BIM models 'on' the real situation. By pointing your smartphone at a false ceiling, for example, you can 'see' which technical components are in that spot (without having to open up the ceiling). The information linked to each component - real-time info from sensors, the installer's contact information, etc. - is centralized in the app and can be easily consulted.

The test case at Vandemoortele' s Food Experience Center in Ghent was already a success. BIMvisible is now ready to solve comfort and technical problems quickly and efficiently in other buildings as well.

BIM organization

In turn, the digital vault makes the management of as-built files much easier. Plans, BIM models, technical sheets, contracts, inspections and other relevant information about the property are stored and organized on a central web platform. The advantage? Important information doesn't get lost (anymore) and can be consulted quickly and efficiently over and over again. The digital vault also makes the step to a BIM organization more obvious. For example, no additional licenses or training for BIM software are required. Via the online platform, the building manager can always consult the necessary information.

A West Flanders hospital group was the first client to order a Digital Vault from us. Ingenium went through their as-built information, selected what was useful and collected it on BIM360 (the cloud platform we host for the client). In addition, their main sections are also 3D mapped and placed on the platform. Instead of searching through a large folder structure, the employees can now consult all the necessary information (mainly plans, but also, for example, contracts, technical sheets, etc.) on any device, from anywhere (via the cloud), in a clear structure. Combined with several training days by Ingenium to the staff, this hospital group is on the way to their BIM future: through the drafting of a BIM vision, a protocol and the creation of a basic architectural model, they can evolve into a real BIM organization.

ELISE tool

The ELISE management tool can also be added to this digital list. Ingenium developed the ELISE management tool together with, among others, Freestone and the Flemish government, with Vlisog as driving force. This brings all documents, possible and necessary actions, the urgency of those actions and the associated costs together visually attractive in one simple dashboard. This allows you to report more efficiently and make more thoughtful decisions. You can read all about it in this article.

VIB 's new refrigeration system is more economical, high-performing and redundant

The Vlaams Instituut voor Biotechnologie VIB) renewed the cooling system of a research building in Zwijnaarde. In order to make the optimal choice for this extensive investment, the VIB asked Ingenium to work out various scenarios. We took a broad look at what was possible on the site, and how energy could be exchanged with other facilities in the future. Besides the concept, we were also responsible for the concrete design and the follow-up of the implementation.
