Energy optimization study Soapventorium De Haan
At the Zeepreventorium site in De Haan, Ingenium was asked to draw up an energy study for the renovation of the old buildings and the optimisation of the buildings to be retained (=building F, building E and the entrance).
As a first step, the functioning of the building management system (BMS) was checked for buildings E and F, which house the swimming pool and the kitchen. It was also indicated here that the cafeteria warms up slowly during the winter.
The aim was to optimise energy consumption and comfort via the building management system, while maintaining hygiene requirements (such as legionella prevention) and functional operation of technologies (heating, ventilation, sanitary hot water).
After the screening, several observations were made and the following adjustments were proposed:
• Adjustment of the circuit control for the boilers
• Adjustment of room temperature and operating time settings
• Optimization of the firing curves
• Re-adjustment of the space heating for the showers
• Adjustment of the sanitary hot water settings
• Optimization of the air handling units settings
• Filling the pool with seawater
• Installation of new pool equipment
After implementing these adjustments, a significant decrease in energy consumption was observed.
Electricity consumption was halved (figure in kWh):

Gas consumption was reduced by 33% (figure in kWh):
