The non-profit organization Vijvens provided a new residential care center in Kruisem on the Marolle: Waegebrughe. Two buildings were constructed on the Waegebrughe campus: west and east of the church.
A total of sixty rest home beds, twenty service flats, thirty assisted living or care flats, a day care center with fifteen places, nine short-stay rooms, two night care rooms and a center for the young demented, administrative and communal functions, large kitchen, technical and other facility rooms were created.
The large-scale project further includes a local service center with a social restaurant, a wellness for the elderly and a daycare center. This will provide a link to the neighborhood and associations.
Ingenium was responsible for the integral study of the techniques: sustainability studies, EPB reporting.
Study, design, competition file, follow-up of the works, commissioning on delivery, budget control, for these techniques: elevators, HVAC, kitchen, plumbing, elevators, electricity.
In terms of sustainability, the following interventions toward reusable energy are planned:
- BEO field with passive cooling and heat pump for heating
- Charging points for electric vehicles
- For the residential units : storey stations with separate heat exchangers and energy metering
- Cogeneration (does consume gas...)
Flexibility in design was provided in this way:
- For each building, substations are provided for the techniques
- A large number of technical ducts are provided per building so that extensions can easily be added
- The distribution of techniques in the building is centralized by a horizontal distribution in the basement that then rises vertically to the floors through the ducts.
