(Retro)commissioning
Commissioning provides quality assurance of the entire construction process.
From a balanced program of requirements at the start of the project to installations that appear to meet all expectations when the building is put into use: everything is checked and thoroughly tested. At Ingenium it is self-evident to apply this way of working in every design dossier.
When the aviation industry launches a new aircraft, it is extensively tested before it takes to the skies on its maiden flight. No one would take it into their head to board an aircraft that has had only a cursory visual inspection and is being "touched up" during its first flight hours. Large and complex buildings often cost as much or more than an airplane. Yet when they are completed, the technical installations are often not at all up to scratch.
Through systematic commissioning throughout the construction process, Ingenium avoids loss of time, money and comfort when the building is already in use. At the start of the project, the program of requirements is thoroughly reviewed and written out in detail. During the design and implementation phases, this program serves as a guide to guarantee quality. When the installation is finished, not only visual checks are done, but the operation is also tested in a thorough way. All these steps are carefully documented in the as-built file, so that the client knows when the building is occupied that it is effectively ready for use and will provide the expected comfort.
