Ingenium supported AZ Groeninge in drawing up an 'Energy Master Plan' with concrete objectivesobjectives towards 2030 and the further future.

A major focus here was the reduction of natural gas consumption and integration of heat pumps, as well as increasing the share of renewable energy production and use on the site itself.

Consideration was given to how PV panels could be further expanded on the remaining available surfaces on the site. This included investigating the feasibility of PV panels on carport on the parking lot and lightweight solar panels on the building sections with more limited carrying capacity, which are now also being further developed for effective implementation on the site.

A global future vision was developed for production and distribution of heat and cold on the site, in line with AZ Groeninge's climate vision plan, with the goal of becoming a "fossil-free" site in the medium term.

Then this vision of the future was further developed into a concrete master plan in which sub-steps were defined and a phasing was put forward, with attention to avoiding lock-in effects.

The integral execution was done expertly and professionally with an eye for the client's interests.
