In 2006, Ingenium was commissioned by UZ Leuven to draw up the energy plan for all the buildings located on the Gasthuisberg site and managed by UZ Leuven.

This energy plan was updated every 4 years. The drawing up of this energy plan and the 4-yearly update is mandatory because UZ Leuven, campus Gasthuisberg is an energy-intensive site (current definition: final annual energy consumption greater than 0.1 PJ).

In 2006, Ingenium was commissioned by UZ Leuven to draw up the energy plan for all buildings on the Gasthuisberg site and under the management of UZ Leuven. The energy plan was drawn up in accordance with the Energy Plan Decree and was declared compliant by the VEKA (Flemish Energy and Climate Agency). It includes a global study and detailed studies of the various buildings and installations for HVAC and electricity.

Every four years (2010, 2014, 2018 and 2022), the energy plan was successfully updated by Ingenium and declared compliant by VEKA. These updates include each time a reporting of the changes to all buildings and installations since the previous update, a detailed analysis of the energy consumption and a comparison with the previous updates of the energy plan, the updating of all measures from the previous energy plans that were not implemented, and the technical and financial calculation of various new energy-saving measures.

Cost-effective measures must be mandatorily implemented by the hospital.
