The new AREI - how to deal with it?

The new AREI - how to deal with it?

As you may have already heard, the new AREI (General Regulations on Electrical Installations) is coming. From June 1, 2020, the adjustments are already applicable and installations will be inspected according to the new AREI.

A number of changes in the new AREI affect both new and existing installations. Ingenium started working on this immediately, allowing our experts to give advice on how best to deal with electrical installations in the future.

Together we can check which studies and/or works are necessary to be in order according to the modified AREI. For current projects, please contact the Ingenium project manager of your project.

For a condensed summary with some key points of interest, please refer to this article, which you can download below.

In addition to the AREI proper, there are concordance tables that show the connection between the old AREI and the new AREI.

For this we refer to this website: https://economie.fgov.be/nl/publicaties/algemeen-reglement-op-de

Just to give a hint already:

An important change means that with the new AREI, all installations for companies, regardless of size, fall under "non-household" installations. This means that a BA4/BA5 becomes mandatory. If an installation needs to be inspected after 1/6/2020, a BA4 and/or BA5 will have to be appointed. Our experts are able to advise you on certification to BA4/BA5.
